Thanks. I'm sure many folks will appreciate that, as they have for Rata's excellent tutorial which you mentioned. I saved it to my library as an edited Word document.

If you need help on anything let me know.
"Studying" your modified repaints is very helpful. For example, I had rearranged Bruno's F-80 wing patterns by joining the leading edges, and then making a separate leading edge extension to overlay the wings. I then got your two 1/100 models from ecardmodels and learned from them your fresh approach.

I'm particularly interested in how you handle shapes given the lack of formers, and in that regard, help in understanding Bruno's notations, like this one where (to me) it's not clear what the red arrowhead indicates ... or how the spar (I presume) is folded and where it should located:
1/100 scale is the new black-wing-spar.jpg

Thanks again for offering to expound a little on your amazing repaints.

Thanks you for your comments. Gene, the red arrow is the top. Burnish and fold on the 2 pink solid lines. Alternate front to back folding the tabs on the the spar. Fit this spar inside the wing and put only a tiny amount of glue on each tab. If you put too much glue on, it will soak into the wing and you will be able to tell when it is complete. I then test fit the wing to see if any trimming is required.

Thanks, Brent. I had done as you suggested and positioned the spar between the first two panel lines back from the leading edge. However, the resultant spread between top and bottom wings was more than if the tabs along the wing/fuselage edge had been used without the spar.

I assumed the tabs were there to be used as both spacers to set the spread, and also to be used as glue tabs to the fuselage ... but evidently not. I'll use the spar for spacing and the tabs for gluing. DUH!

At any rate, sorry to digress. Appreciate the words and indulgence.

Gene

Gene, I will post some photos on my next build. I completed my repaint of Miss Molly a few weeks ago. I have been making the missiles and drop tank for the last few weeks. I only put on 1 drop tank and one sidewinder. The sidewinders are too small for me and one was enough. The other partially built F-14 was used for Phoenix missile rack tests. Miss Molly is now available at Ecardmodels.

Ha Ha, Falco, I am a very average builder. I have a hard time cutting on the lines... My next repaint and build is of Bruno's A-4E Skyhawk. I needed an adversary for the Topgun Tomcats I am finishing up. This is a test build of the plane Viper and Jester flew in the movie. I have also repainted 2 more, the light one is what Jester flew in the 2 vs 2 dogfight. The last one is the Mig-17 camo, I am building this now.
