A question re: PR's Air France Flight 447
So I was starting to build Paper Replika's offering of Air France Flight 447, the ill-fated Airbus A330-203 lost in June 2009. In looking up photos online of the actual aircraft, F-GZCP, it can be seen it was powered by General Electric CF6 high-bypass turbofans, yet the PR model has Rolls Royce Trent 700s. The engines look very different.
Is there anywhere I can get a CF6 in the same scale and (best-case scenario) markings of the 2009-era Air France A330, or did I just build the fuselage for nothing? Any insights/guidance is welcome. Thanks. |

A helpful fellow forumite -- to whom I am grateful -- sent me CF6s repainted from another PR model. Problem solved.

I haven't built this model but I have built other A330s from Paper Replika. Ill be interested to see how yours turns out

Work has been slow, but here is a photo; for some reason, I'm not able to upload more than one photo. When we moved to Kuwait, I only brought along the barest of essentials in modeling tools (had to save weight in the luggage) and I've not yet restocked on things like knitting needles for rolling, clamps, etc., and I'm using a regular white glue, not the neutral-pH stuff I'm accustomed to.
