Martin JRM Mars - Murph's Models

Hello

Coming soon from Murph's Models, the Martin JRM Mars.

2 versions; US Navy and civilian water bomber.

Some in progress pics:

The model has 4 internal formers. They're needed to keep the boxy fuselage from sagging. Also helps in supporting the massive wingspan.

Fuselage comes out at 46.3 cm long. Wingspan is around 80 cm... I have no idea where I'm going to put these two.

More pics to follow.

I love to buy a couple of these once they are published a very lovely airplane it is the Martin Mars has always been my favorite flyingboat of all time next to the mighty Porcupine Short Sunderland. I built a scratch built model of the Hawaii Mars BU No.76823 out of foam board and card stock. te picture below is a sample of it next to the P6M Seamaster. I will be your first customer the test shots looks great Hardy Well done.

Beautiful work, Niki. Do use the integral connecting tabs (it appears that way on the images), or do yo cut out separate tabs? Whichever method you use, you do a remarkable job of producing smooth fuselages.

Thanks. Yip, integral tabs with all of Aaron's designs. Not sure if the method I use is unique (I doubt it) but I apply glue to the receiving part (the non-tab section) and gently squeeze the parts together.

More photos to come later.

More photos:

Details shots of the internal formers

Nothing fancy, just enough to provide some support and stop the sides from sagging in.

Finished photos will be in a new thread:
