Smile CANT Z501 Gabbiano Murph's Models 1/100 scale (Beta)

Hi my firends!

Time to show my build of last two weeks. Is a beatiful single engine parasol flying boat of 1930's. The italian CANT Z501 Gabbiano from Murph's Models. The original kit is 1/46 scale, but I reduced to my familiar 1/100.

I start the works of wing and engine nacelle.

I start from internal reinforcement look the detail of nacele gunner seat...

I build the engine nacelle, is a first part of wing components, note the front and rear not attached yet, for help with former...

I made the wings...

I attached the wings fillet, radiator, rear carenage, turret windshield and made propller, this subset done.

I always thought that the sunburst red striping looked nice on big Italian planes planes.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank's my friends! Is not easy model, but is very grateful to build.

I start the fuselage, a very complex task because a peculiar shape of hull.

The fuselage build sequence, no the use of non laminating formers, is a unsual feature in Aaron design, but is necessary because hull have some steps and variarions of angle. The form of fuselage is unique and very beatiful.

I made the floats, is the same case, have a on former because the step of hull...

I attached cockpit and vertical tail on the fuse...

I painted the whater line (black) with acrilyc paint for erase cracks and some small sandings parts... (not need is a extra custom detail)

Today I made the rest of the tail, install turrets and I believe made the most complext task the intrincated mounts system...

I gluing with carefull and low cure ciano glue a wing with central cabane struts...

So I made the rest of struts, a careful task.

I forgot made pics from the rest of processe but is gluing the floats and made the propeller, is the result...

Model finished...

Final considerations: Is a rare subject. Italian airplanes of 1920's to WWII is a great welcome in papermodelling scene, the original scale is 1/46, very good for make a great customizations, like a cockpit and other details. The major difficult of model here in the struts. In my thread My new project of long duration- The Seaplanes and Airboat Collection I show another pics of Gabbiano with some custom details like a rigging and weaponry..
