Wing construction

Ahoy
Thanks fellas for all of your comments I am honored, Okay build report for today The fuselage is all done now its time for the wings. Starting with the center wing panel there are two outboard wing ribs and for the center spar there is a box type wing spar. This box wing spar has an opening at both ends to except the two outer wing panel wing spars. The wing spar box ends are rested flush against the outer center wing ribs. The clarity of the construction of the joining of the outer wing panels is not shown in the instructions this where the guess work comes to play. Before I install the outer wing panels the spars will have to be installed it will be shown on the next update. So far in general there were no fit issues to the construction of the center and outer wing panels. A great old kit other then trimming the former on top of the fuselage a enjoyable build. Here are the update pictures.

Hi Boats,

I reckon this is going to be a "big bird"!! Slow aircraft with a huge wing surface area.... The moment you can attach the wings to the fuselage is always a "wow moment".

Keep it up,
Erik

GPM Junkers Ju-52/3m "Tante Ju" 1/33

Very nice, Boats!

Beautiful wing shape, and the fuselage has the proper 'rustic corrugated aluminum plate look' of the real Ju-52/3m. This will be a real beauty when assembled for sure. Thanks for sharing!

Looking forward to seeing how you build the landing gear and thick wheels.

Ahoy Bengt
Thank you for the comment The wings went together very smoothly without problems I was surprised that both wings mirror image during their construction because of the long length of the wings on this kit Stay tuned I will have another update this evening I have the undercarriage assembly completed. Thanks My Man for the reply I am honored.

Undercarriage assemblies

Ahoy
Here is another update on my JU-52 letting the wing structures dry before installation I went to the landing gear assembly. The Landing gear assemblies are nothing mo0re then coat hanger wire sand the kits parts. After the parts were cut from the sheet they were formed and installed to the under belly of the center wing section. Letting this dry I will go back and fair and touch up the undercarriage struts with the coat hanger wire gives great support for this colossal beast. Next update will be the final undercarriage and tire assemblies then its time to build the two remaining Jumo engines and last will be the wing assembly. There is a reason for this I will explain on the next update.

Last update for the day went back and tuned up the landing gear struts when they dry I will give them a light sanding here and there the wheels have been added. Next will be the two last Jumo engines and the rest of the parts that are remaining.
