S&P "Vomit Comet"
I never got to ride on NASA's KC-135A "Vomit Comet" in my days in Texas, but I had a couple of colleagues who did. One told me that NASA told her not to eat anything red in the hours before the flight. The reason: If she or the other passengers vomited anything red, the crew would immediately know it was blood. Gross.
This is my build of S&P's KC-135A in NASA markings. Given its 1/300th scale, it was as simple as could be. It was a fun and quick model, although I'm not sure I got the cockpit cap on right. |

And another plane in NASA's fleet, in the same scale....
While I have the floor, I'd love to see an E-3D Sentry in this scale, in RAF markings, with the CFM-56 engines Last edited by dhanners; 09-22-2014 at 06:40 AM. |

Just thinking about the KC-135A upsets my stomach. Good job, and I can't tell why you think the cockpit might be on incorrectly.

I did a Sentry in Nato colors (post 420) and the model of the KC-135 (post 315) has CFM engines. perhaps that could help. Bruno |

While we're on the subject of KC-135s, I would LOVE to see an RC-135U or even a Saudi E-3:

Congrats, the model looks perfect. I'm happy to see it done.

Wow even in this small scale your skill makes this look fantastic. Can't wait to get my first build started and done. Mike

I've been thinking about modifying the KC-135 that Bob put out years ago. I'm jut not very good at part design myself. |
