A couple update pics, no time to set up any better ones, but not quite finished,
I had to change the roundel style as am attempting to represent the mustang II
or P-51 A without nose guns, 2 50's in the wing each side, which is a bit later than Leif's coloring scheme. That this throws coloring and numbering off a bit ...
its the best I could do for now. I think the skins of this model go together very well, would have liked more formers to fit the wing to the fuse, but I removed the part of the wing skin that goes under the fuse and that worked out not too bad for fit. Some little parts I used from other 51 models, gear details and tank pylons, but definately winding down, a few details to polish up but not too sure when the time will allow. I also would like to make one of Sumato's airliners...so thinking about other projects..

Those two natural light photos are stunning. I'm so happy the model is turning out this well! - Leif

Thank you Yoav, Whulsey, Leif and Don, such distinguished visitors! I took a couple more quick pics in daylight such as it is today, the parts incomplete are the distinctive pitot tube of the early P-51, the ailerons are actually temporary, and was thinking of drop tanks similar to the f4f I recently did as are contemporary and look like they may be the same, a couple shots to show some detail not visible on prior photos.

Leif you should not be surprised the model comes out well as isn't a bad model at all, and with the add ons and research you and Mike have done is a decent representation of this less known group of Mustangs

Very nice photos Glen.
The close-up of the landing gear showcases some terrific work.

It's such a fine model you've made, Glen! I'm particularly happy the thin waistline is as apparent as it was on the original of this early Mustang.

I hope the photos catch the eyes of Chris (Gutzmer) or Robert (3Turner). Should be included on Ecardmodels' site!

Congratulations, and once again, thank you for this build!

- Leif
