One tiny issue - if you can still safely remove them, both ailerons cannot be in the down position...

Indeed, Elliott. A good friend of mine is a world-class plastic modeler with a knack for weathering Japanese aircraft. There's quite a bit of tricky work involved in getting a genuine look of peeling and flaking paint. Fortunately, good card model designers take care of that bit of detail for us! And galo82, your finished model is quite striking!
