S-3 Viking VS-33 "screwbirds" 1:200 scale

Hi guys!
I've began work on a new project, the S-3 Viking. This one is from vs-33 squadron, as seen on the museum ship U.S.S. Yorktown (CV-10). I will include structural support as suggested by frederico along with landing gear. As before with my U-2S project (still in the works, in case you were wondering) I will make a prototype before moving on to the final model and plans. The plans will be hand drawn, thus not perfect, but I don't have any programs like paint so I can't digitally build right now. Anyways, enjoy! As always suggestions and constructive criticism are appreciated

I'll have to check my cruise book but I believe this squadron was on my first carrier back a few decades. Always loved the S-3 - nice quiet birds. They kinda left the cat with a whimper although the crew probably didn't think so. Be interesting to watch your work.

Thank you beachead! I first saw this one in the Yorktown on my visit to Charleston over the summer, so I decided to make one, as I have with my older a-6 f-14 and f-18 designs.

I found some of my old pics from a FEW years ago. LOL So low and behold - VS-33 on deck. The pic is from a back-in-the-day camera as you can well guess, so hope you can at least see some of the details.

I'll have to dig and see if I don't have another shot or two of them.

Awesome man! Interesting that the one I saw had a little bird on the tail instead of the arrows. I've seen many varying pics of the tail art, maybe they all had different tail art. Do you know of this?

PE - no each squadron carried the same tail art. The one you saw may be the museum's idea. However my cruise book only covers the years 1979-1982. The book also shows an S-3 shooting of a rocket, in an attack profile. We had a lot of fun back then.

Oh okay thanks for clearing that up. Maybe I'll do a repaint of it after I finish the prototype.
