Focke Wulf-190 (Fiddlersgreen redraw)

I am now going to redraw and modify the Fiddlersgreen.net Focke Wulf-190. Designed in 1992 and redrawn in '99 it really needs a redraw for good. I've been thinking about redrawing almost all of the older Fiddlersgreen models. I haven't gotten around to it yet but I know for a fact I will be making a lot of vectored redraws and recolors.

Here is the old model... Designed in 1992 and redrawn in 1999. It really needs a good redesign.

Does anyone know what variant the FG Focke Wulf-190 is? This is what I plan on doing to the 190. I want to put in all those rivets details and a few other things.

Been messing around with the canopy.... I am really trying to get the shape right and I think I am on the right path. Just need to stretch the back and fix the back section of windows.

From the small side view on the first sheet, I would guess it is close to the A-5. Definitively not an A-3, as the engine cowling on the early FW 190 was shorter. If you want to do more research on the variant, take a closer look at the machine gun fairings above the engine, the canopy shape, the antenna mount on top of the vertical stabilizer and the main gear flaps, I believe that you can identify the variant with these features fairly well.

Glad to see you do this R16R, the 190 is one of my favorite planes (the D-9 is my favorite of them all). The FG 190 is a simple model that can use an update....Rich

I've been fixing the canopy and horizontal stabilizer and this is what I have so far. I've been adding rivet detailing too and I think I am happy with these parts.

Really an excellent detail added to the model.
A Ta-152 would be, I think, a very interesting subject.
