Boeing 717-200 (test build) (TAP Civil Aviation Series, 1:200)

I saw this paper glider on a website a few weeks ago and wanted to design my own so I came up with this. It’s a 1:200 Boeing 717-200 paper model I designed and just finished building and I hope to design some landing gear soon. I was pondering the idea of adding 3D flap track fairings and decided "Why the heck not" so I did. BIG thanks to John Bowden for helping with the engines as well, I wouldn't have gotten them right without him. I plan on recoloring this into the livery Delta Airlines, Air Tran, and Qantas Link later.

P.S. I forgot to say this model includes accurate panel line details as well as cardboard reinforced wing spars in the main wings as well as the horizontal stabilizer.

Top view.

Front view.

Bottom shot showing the 3D flap track fairings.

Back view showing the engine exhausts.

Enjoy!

I see I have a little friendly competition for my 717! Looks pretty good, does it fly well?

Haven't tested that yet.

While yours looks comfy, I just spent four separate flights on the 717. They
are a piece of crap. Extremely loud in the cabin, and the most uncomfortable
seats I have ever ridden on. In a commercial airliner, of course.

I once saw one come in at the asheville airport. Very loud. Really cool to see come in though. They have a slightly backheavy weight distribution, not enough to matter, but when they start to land, their nose goes upward just a little bit more than most planes. I don't know if that was the pilot, gear, or a pitch problem, but I remember that. As for uncomfortable seating, the old B-17s with ripped leather patches and a sharp metal back are the worst. Really amazing planes, but I'd much rather have a 717 seat. I do agree that they are terrible for passengers though. Not very ergonomic

Boeing 717? I didn't even know they existed. Being a derivative of the DC-9 I imagine I've probably seen two or seven of them and just assumed it was a MD-80. Between that and finding out today that there are rocket engines with extendable nozzles I feel like I've been living under a rock.

The 717 was a McDonnell Douglas MD-95 if I am not mistaken.
