F-14 Tomcat Agressor Maly Modelarz

Hello friends
I've started building the F-14 Tomcat from Mały Modelarz, that comes in Agressor design.

Not too much to say about the F-14, other than it was top notch fighter before the F/A-18 came. I read that a lot of upgrades were applied to the Cat in an effort to keep it flying, but budget constraints and upgrade expenses (for which the F/A-18 already had out-of-the-box) made this airplane retire.

One of my favorite models 30 plus years ago when I built it in plastic. Now for the first time I build one in paper.

The kit is very well done, the fit is excellent, and regardless of one or two missed measurements, it is a fantastic bird in paper. The Agressor configuration makes this model very appealing.

For references, I went first to look for F-14 Agressor images on internet, and there are not too many. But for F-14, I could get the book on F-14 Walkaround from Squadron. I'm also going to visit Lackland Air Force Base here in San Antonio over the weekend to have another 'live' walkaround.

For references on the actual model, I found some on our Polish and German paper brethren, and one in this forum; but only one finished, all the others went thru very good building process, and then they came to a stop. So I had to do some guessing, for example, on the main landing gear wheel wells, and the closing of the side walls below the wings. Nevertheless I thank our European paper friends for sharing their modeling skills and references.

In view of that, I will bombard this forum (as well as my "home forum" in Spain) with photos from many angles of the model. (I just hope I won't be banned for posting that many.)

As I said, since the model is about 80% complete, I will post continuously.

I hope my reference can serve as a guide for anybody who wants to build the model.

Thanks for watching.

Thank you, Paperengineer!

On the nose and pilots offices, nothing out of the ordinary. And no issues!

Now for the dashboards on pilot and navigator, I added plastic for the screens (old cellular phone protectors). Then for the controls in the dashboards, I used little cuts from hearphone cables (the inside little cables), and that gave some details to the dashboard buttons.

Y como los páneles de los controles laterales de la cabina se veían muy pobres, les puse un poquito de sabor.

Do you have a canopy for it? Or will you make one?

Nice progress

Hi Gerardo,

this kit from MM is quite good - it was on my working desk - already scanned and rescaled to 1:50 - until devine forces told me to stopp and start with the F-15C. Our friend Norbert at kartonbau.de has already published a build-thread of this kit - have you found it ?
Regards Klaus

Good work on the cockpit. Very detailed. I remember that one time I saw a video or two of yours on YouTube of the halinski f-117 and f-16. Those were awesome! I watched them over and over again, especially seeing the cockpit and gears detail. Amazing work as always
