F-15 - the new project
before 2 weeks i started to work on the IAF F-15.
i finished to draw all the wings, rudders, elevators, air intakes and the engines exhaust. after that i start to work on the main fuselage of the model. i created formers from profiles i found in the net. i connected the formers with stick with the right distance between the formers. then, i covered and glue the formers with paper, and after covering i was peeling the paper from the formers with a thin and sharp knife. after that i scaned the paper and work on it with the photoshop and drew a new part. because the main fuselage is comlicated, i notice that i have to work 3-4 hours on each part, so i was giving up.
so what i did? i called to my good friend Moshe Oshri and ask him for his help and he gladly take the job. i drew for him a new formers and did a sketch of the main fuselage and the nose and tell him the right distance between the formers and the right level between them, and he started to work on it with his 3D program. so now i am waiting for him to complete the work so i can go on with the project. and this is the place to thank to MOSHE OSHRI of his help. meantime, here the simulation of what he did. i hope it will be a good model with his help. Hello YOAVHOZMI
the first design approach seemed very interesting, is a little bit pity You gave up with it. Still good luck with a new project, only one question - what will be the scale?

1:30 scale. after i was measuring my F-4E, i realized that he is 1:30 and not 1:32 scale like i was suppose to think. he is about 63-64 cm length. and because i want all my models will be the same scale, i did the KFIR and the MIRAGE the same scale like the F-4E. so the F-15 will be 1:30 about 64.5 cm length . YOAV this is the rudder i did by myself...the picture is not on the right scale, it is only for demonstration. |

I think you have selected the best approach. Using a 3D CAD program will allow for a very accurate model. Your first method introduced error in the design since it relies on perfect build, dis-assembly, re scanning and creating a new part. Best of luck Isaac

but look, at the first time i succeeded to do a good part, but as i said before it took me 3-4 hours for one part and it frustrated me.....so i decided to take the easy way. at the end, what's important? the important thing to me is to get a good and detailed model....and the other thing, i can publish it to all of my friends. good evening my friend YOAV |
