FG Stearman PT 17 for Samuel Santana

A friend of mine, Samuel Santana, has written a book entitled "Send Me an Angel," about the Women's Airforce Service Pilots, or WASP. It includes scenes with the PT 17. I constructed the FG version of the "Yellow Peril, which he takes to various events and book signings. Thought ya' all might like to see it.

If you are interested in well-researched fiction about the WWII era, here's a link to Santana's book.

Rich, I don't remember the site from which I downloaded the base, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Hudson Valley. The only name on them is a logo that says Pixel Designs. I've used them quite a bit, and they come in several colors and two sizes. The one pictured is the large size.

That is one good-looking, craftsmanlike model, Garland.

It's an excellent gesture, too. Thanks for the recommendation on the book.

You're welcome, Don. I enjoyed the book greatly. The author wasn't a flyer (he's a retired policeman, actually), but he did a good job in recreating the flying experiences from crop dusting to ferrying a stricken B-52. Plus he did a great job in researching the experiences of the women flyers, especially their period of flight instruction.

I'll ditto the gestures. That is a great looking model and base. Thank you for the book recommendation. The WASPs did a great service for this country and their story needs told.

Super clean build. Very nice job. The base fooled me, I thought it was wood.

Thank you, all, for your kind words. Yes, the base can fool you. It's one of two wood patterns that came in the set. There are several colors (I thought about yellow, but it wasn't quite the right shade for the "Yellow Peril"), as well as a metallic looking base.

Fantastic build, and for a good cause.
