Can we assume Gary's one is illegal then?

Not at all. I was just surprised by Murph's statement that his was the only licensed model.

Personally I use any source available to get what I want. I'm even guilty of using Alice as a catalogue to see what's around, then go searching with Google.

Same as PC World ... excellent showroom for browsing, but everything they sell is available cheaper on line.

the only reason i was wondering if it could be done was that there is a 1/33 B-29, a 1/33 B-52, and a 1/33 scale Tu-95 so why not try it and see what happens.

There is a licensed plastic one that's been around for years in several different boxes and brands that I think is 1/100. To give you an idea of size here a rear shot of the Ford Tri-motor that used to be a Evergreen, in the background is part of the elevator and rudder of the Spruce Goose.

love to see a 1/33 scale Spruce Goose-ford-20trimotor-205-b-201928-20rear-l.jpg

His isn't illegal. Since he doesn't sell it, they leave him alone. If he tried to sell it, Evergreen would be on him like a ton of bricks (I felt the ton of bricks already.) AS it was explained to my by somebody in their office, they strictly control the copyright so that there aren't "a million different models of it out there uncontrolled."

selling or not selling...makes zero difference.
copyrights is copyrights (if there are copyrights involved)
All this "oh they can't bother you if you aren't making money" is malarkey.
If they have legitimate copyrights, then they either don't know about the model
or they do and have unknowingly given permission by not doing anything
(and I'd say that is a legal precedent).

Possibly one of those ideas that sounds awesome, but somewhat impractical in reality (at least for most of us).

What dose 3meters= to in standard measurements? (inches?)
