Lee, those planes look beautiful! Is the wall foam rigid enough resist the force of the rubber motor, as in comparable to balsa? Also, where do you get wall foam, at the hardware store?

I had both of these books years ago, Did anyone ever manage to build the B-2 Bomber from the 2nd book, Did it fly?

looks like they still have the foam at homebase
and i found a load of tissue paper in the workshop yesterday, the only thing thats gonna hurt is buying the spray mount, its never been cheap

Brilliant technique, Batesyboy! I have never encountered this 2mm foam sheet that you are using, This might be a way to build large models with minimum internal structure.
I ran across the Historic Paper Models book years ago, adn read it avidly - there is an account of how to motorize them with electric motors that leaves a lot to the imagination. I imagined motoizing the Savoia-Marchetti S55, but could not figure out how to hang the whole thing together. With batteries in the boat/fuselages and motors up top, and the whole structure out of paper, it seemed too flimsy to ever actually fly. With your method, and some judicious use of balsa. it just might. Cheers, (And welcome to the Forum)

Hawker Hart and Fury update
Hi Tenrick,
I have totally re drawn / skinned a Hawker Hart, all i could realistically salvage was the top wing upper skin (from the Johnson book) I could possibly use some of the smaller details, but i will try to redraw these too as the original art work is quite `Grainy` For the redraw i have based it on Bruno (scissors and planes) version.. It will probably take quite a while to build (time is at a premium)... I will post pictures when complete, I have built a Fury, with the same method, and all is well !
