Very nice clean work Raja, the fuselage looks great (especially with that silver paper).

Hello guys its been awhile..

The project has ran into serious trouble
That is, i downloaded World of Tanks

I still figuring out how to make elevator hinge, all the photos of V2A shows it has two-piece 'Classique' elevator instead of 'Monoblock' all-flying elevator used by V2B and N, yet the hinge is completely hidden within the H-stab

I should use some Imagineering here

Anyhow, The rudder is finished, Printed on regular 120gsm paper then glossed tho match the silver V-stab, i use pencil lead as hinge axle. Yep, the rudders are fully mobile

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p1182240.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p1182243.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p1182244.jpg

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p1182245.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p1182248.jpg

P.S. The A/C on the picture above is V2A No.2 preserved on Savigny, but funnily (and confusingly) enough it had '92-AB' registration, which normally used by V2B. Then there's a picture of a V2B, using the exact same Registration!

From the tail marking we can see it is the No. 602 airframe (Valid no. for a V2B), i did a little more digging and found out that the No.602 was dumped at Colmar-Meyenheim
AND LOOK WHAT THEY'VE DONE TO IT

Now it's nothing more than a charred skeleton and a pile of ash

Raja

At 1/50 scale there is really no issue. This is an all flying stabilizer that pivots ( you can see the pivot plate on either side. The "elevator" portion is used for trim and is almost flush, so there are no hinges that you can see at your scale.

What's this talk about tanks? That is no problem You can do both and have fun...........

Hi gents
The V2A build is gaining momentum again, i've started building the elevator yesterday, each elevator consisted of three part, swash plate, elevator and trim tab, all glued together

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p2262372.jpg

But if i attached the elevator as is, it would rotate all the way up and down

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p2262373.jpg

So i created a limiting mechanism, using slot on the V-stab and rod on the elevator, this mechanism also ensure left and right elevator rotate simultaneously

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p2262375.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p2262377.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p2262378.jpg

Here's the elevator attached, the limiting mechanism is covered by elevator swash plates, just like the real deal

Small update, swashplate cover.
I checked my resource last week, upon closer inspection i found this little fairings on elevator root

These fairings are thin and broad on 'Monoblock' tails (V2B photo above), while 'classique' tail's fairing is thicker and looks more like fillets (Strangely, shown on V2N)

So i scratchbuilt them, piece of cake

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3052415.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3052416.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3052417.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3052420.jpg

tail light..

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3052419.jpg

now, on to the wings!

What glue do you used to glue the 120gr rudder to the tail?
I think that is a good idea for models printed in metallic paper.
The white color is the problem.

Thank you Chicharrero and Gary! The rudder is not glued to the v stab but attached using movable hinge

Build progressed to the wing, i cut control surface openings and relocate some of the wing spars to make movable flaps and aileron

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p2282387.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p2282388.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p2282389.jpg

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3012404.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3012405.jpg

And here's the flaps and aileron

1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3012406.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3012407.jpg1/50 SNCASO Vautour 2A-p3012408.jpg

All finished, ready to close
