Fiddlers Green Taube ready for flight

Hi there,
I've just finished the redone version (Richard Derry?) of the Taube, which is a big visual improvement over the original. With some extra work this could come out as a very nice model indeed, but I was building it for my daughter's bedroom ceiling so I've only added a few extra bits. I added a balsa main spar for strength as well.
My son may want one too when he sees this, so I might have a chance to do a better one soon - each model is a learning experience!
Doing the tyres was one of the trickiest bits, They're a simple 3-part construction, hollow inside, with added conical centres. I wanted to keep them hollow to save weight - does anyone have any tips on glueing this kind of shape together?

Looks great! When building wheels like those, I usually cut the disk sections away from the tread, glue them to cardboard of appropriate thickness, and then wrap the tread around.

Thanks Don, I guess I could use some thin corrugated card for that, keep the weight down. Yes, Gary, the Pickelhaube'd crew give it a lot of character, reminds me of 'Wacky Racers', if anyone remembers that?
