my mini air fleet

I was able with advice from Keds-Girl-Lala to shrink down some of my models. It was a blast. The blueish plane a Fiddlers green ME-109, made of poster board and clear plastic for the canopy. The bright white F-86 is also a Fiddlers green model that I accidentally printed on to regular paper, so I built it any way. At this scale it is still a bit soft in paper, but it was fun. The greenish plane is a Turkish F-100 and was a free download from Ecardmodels.com. This was a fun build, lots of small parts but all fit well. It was printed on left over folder paper from a kids school project. The F-86 with landing gear was printed on the back of a mac & cheese box, as was the two Pfalz bi-planes. The Pfalz planes were free down loads over at Zealot. I have a couple of Fokker D1s ready to go to, we shall see how they go.

I could do these all day long. My kids are just itching to "play" with them. "Play" is kid talk for destroy as fast as possible.

CT, you should try your hand at some armor builds. There are a lot of really nice freebees out there to download. Then your kids could really do some good playing.

Years ago when I didn't have the shakes and could still cut paper without cutting myself, I built the two miniature versions of the FG BeeGee Racers out of bond paper. They were a little more than a half inch long. For bracing I used my aging blond hair. When I finished them, I showed them to the proprietor of the local hobby shop and he asked if he could display them. I agreed and jokingly said, "Get what you can for them."

About a week later, I went back in the shop and he handed $10. I asked what that was for and he said, "Some lady came in here, saw the BeeGees and loved them. She said they would fit her dollhouse perfectly and asked what I wanted for them. I told her to make me an offer and she whipped out ten bucks. Didn't think you'd mind since you could build some more."

I pocketed the $10 and never made anymore. But I was surprised there was a market for miniature aircraft models made out of paper.

I think you didn't get enough for them, Ash! ct ertz love the little planes. They didn't last long around our house, either in those days of young ones. My son now likes some to display on his shelf with his other collections, knives, airsoft guns, coins, ect. He likes the little fg tank (panther?) That's my only attempt at armor so far KC..
