Thumbs up "Flak-Bait" & Anne McCombs

The May 2015 issue has a picture of Anne
pointing to damaged fabric on the rudder
of "Flak-Bait" and some of her comments
about the restoration.

Interesting.

Cheers, Bob

Guilty as charged, though someone else will have to supply the publication info. We had an Open House in January, and I was one of the staff that spoke to the media for the publicity stories beforehand. The Open House was great fun. Work is well underway on "Flak Bait," though my part has gotten off to a slow start due to the need to wait for resource availability. The engine man started pulling cylinders off this week, the fore and aft fuselage sections are getting disassembled as needed, and the machine guns are getting cleaned up. I've also been working with volunteers on the Apollo Telescope Mount plus some other stuff.

I've been following the progress on the museum's twitter account. Pretty interesting pictures. Somewhat startling to see the fuselage in many sections.

Any chance of the restoration story showing up on PBS?

Am I correct that B-26 "Flak Bait" will be displayed as a complete aircraft....I have seen the nose several times in the past and also saw the other components in storage.....come to think of it the nose was in storage when I first saw it!!! Where will the final display be located???

It would be very interesting to follow the restoration photos, are they posted on a website, I don't use twitter?

Thanks,
Gary
