hi pjabraham, erik, knife and isaac

Thank for your comments.

The hole cutting issue . Here the trick to get perfect little circle, use a leather hole punch tool. That a plier with Revolving Head for 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm, 4.0mm, 4.5mm. Suitable for most parts. Got mine on-line for less than 10€ but I see one at my local art store too.

You can also get the Aitoh japanese hole punch. Much better, but not the same price (around 100€ !) Beware, many sold the chinese copy instead. Anyway never found it in europe (at least the real one).

Btw, do some test before cutting the real parts. It's good for 180g paper or 0.5mm cardboard. Lower paper you may need to shap the punch (that a 10€ tool ), over 1mm it tends to mash up the (yellow) cardboard so I prefer to cut all parts than glue them together (and stack 0.5mm parts instead of 1mm).

bye

It's alive !!!
Decided last week to do some more work on this model.
Did the main landing gear. I replaced the paper part with rod (1mm). on final picture, actually replace the up part with 2mm+ paper.
Then the blades. It's made of 3 parts, the inner being 1mm cardboard with 45/60° angle on the edges. Paper has to be bend on all length. I wasn't really confident but it was actually easy (kind off) to do. After gluing the lower part I sand paper to create a curve, glued the upper part and close the edges.
Now front part. not so much fun. Can't make the nose to fit and eventually did a mess with It. Not decided yet but I think I will let the mode 'open'. bye

Glad to see you're moving on with this one and good luck with saving the nose part....

Thanks guys.
If I hadn't spend so many hours on it - specially the engine - I think this model would have ended in the trashcan a long time ago !
For the nose I think is a lost battle. When gluing it to the 2 sides I manage to get something acceptable but as sound I try to put it on the 'frame' It cannot fit, shape start deform. I think I will keep the front open, well see.

bye.

No, it's not a dream, before starting a new model (yep, again ) I finished this one !

Last time I stopped after destroying the front "fuselage" ; printing wasn't convincing so I just dropped those parts altogether.
Added few minor detail to the model, few controls, exhaust pipe,etc... this is resin gear from ... a mig-15 (which sadly didn't survive...)
