Junkers Ju-88 D1 - Halinski at his best ...
Hello gentlemen,
after loosing my Mac G5 in case of motherboard problems and revitalising my computer life with an iMAC 27" I will start a new construction report. The choice of a twin-engined Halinski Bomber promises a long time project. The cardmodel represented one of the heroes of the Nazi-Luftwaffe, Major Werner Baumbach. The man who sunks the EMILE BERTIN for sample. More about this pilot and his life can be found here: Werner Baumbach - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I use laser-cutted parts for the framework - I like these convenient things. They are precise and timesaving. So first the framework W1 - Wg. After drying carefully wrapped with part 1a. The fitting of the parts is extremely good ... |

Hi, Wilfried. I see in your pictures a particular quirk that exists in my I-16 kit as well, namely that the laser-cut set does not include a full set of frames. Some of the formers that are actual cockpit frames and not full bulkheads must be laminated and cut by hand. I was rather disappointed to discover this fact, since it is the spindly frames that are most tedious to cut out. The Brewster B239 kit has a full laser-cut frame set, so I think this is a shortcoming they corrected in newer kits, or at least some of them.

Hello Chris,
that's true; especially the vital formers for the cockpit are as u said; and there's another problem with the thickness after laminating the formers ... but I should solve this problem ... With lovely greetings the Wilfried |

Hello gentlemen,
I appreciate your faith in my skills ... chris, willy, jeff, jim and jim .. and thank you for your kind words. So let's go further with the cockpit basics. The side panel #2f was the next step; in my opinion could this part at this position a little bit more stable. Anyway - I talked about the thickness problems of the formers; take a look at the red arrow ... I solve this problem easily... With lovely greetings for now the Wilfried |
