Zeppelin Rammer- another hotel build
And so it goes again. I am keeping busy building simple 1/48 scale models in my hotel while on TDY in Montreal.
This time it is another of X Crafts little kits. The rammer is another one of the Luft 46 desparate designs. This one is supposed to have rammed allied bombers and disable them.  Zeppelin Rammer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This method had some success by the Soviets against the Germans early in the war, but mostly was used with the prop cutting the control surfaces. In any case it was a nutty tactic with dubious results. The kit Nothing really to say other than it is super simple and comes in two pages of which only half a page contains the parts. There is a crude cockpit, but I decided to omit it as it was so simple that it made no sense to build it. Here are the pages     Isaac

Lets build
The parts cut
 small sub assemblies   Fuselage    What a tiny thing. Only issue is that I printed it on card that was a bit to thick and made rolling the parts difficult. Secondly, the color is so plain! I wish it was repainted in a more attractive camouflage. Isaac

Wings
Wings are one piece glued at the trailing edge. My only additions were to adde two layers of card inside the wings ( not glued ) to pump them up a bit. The second improvement was to use wood tooth picks as spars. Made the assembly fast and easy to attach.

The tail and that's all folks
The tail surfaces are of the same method as the wings
 It is done.  It took me two evenings to build this little thing. Total I would say about 3 hours. Isaac
