Really , this was the easiest model I have built. Especially since I simplified it by eliminating all the interiors.

The only suggestion I could convey is a better repaint. Something more conventional Luftwaffe splinter scheme maybe.

Here is an initial set of pics.

I recall that this was in competition against the HE162 for the Volksjager project.
Although the HE162 was a beautiful plane, I still wish that the BV entry won the bid. I would have been nice to see this plane in action.

They are all interesting project and provided a step in aviation technology. None were practical for war. That included the Heinkel 162 as well as the Me 262 and the Arado 234. All suffered from reliability, durability , lack of training for ground and flight crew. All were rushed to service without regards and full of desperation.

Many of them did morph into other planes post WW2 and that is the main reason I like them. All the What if were never what ifs in the Luftwaffe.

Isaac,

RE: morphing into post-WW2 (and beyond)
Indeed. I share your reason for liking Luft'46. And as a modeler, I take great pleasure in seeing the transformation of conceptual 3-view diagrams into actual, tangible things.

What really amazes me is that I've been seeing RC modelers produce flying models of other luft'46 planes such as the HE P.1079, the BV212 and the FW1000x3.

See this BV 215 RC plane video. On landing the tips breaks off. Reason why the d3sign could not have bern practical as is and needed modifications.

One of the members of that forum would pick a Luft'46 project. Then he'd create a 3d CAD model of it. After which, he runs his model through XFLR5 to analyze the flight characteristics of the plane. Based on the result, he would then tweak the design to make them airworthy.

I have seen this flight by myself. The weather conditions were lousy for this flight as there was crosswind and gusts. Erik decided to fly nevertheless to present his wonderful model.
At the landing a gust lifted the model beyond a flyable state.
I have seen this model fly (and land of course ) perfectly on other meetings. So I would say the design works well in normal conditions and well... How many 109 (or F-4 Wildcats) were crashed during landings regarding the narrow tracked landing gear

Just to point that out Back to topic I have to say that your model looks absolutely great. I think I will give this one a try when I have removed the swastika

Well done Isaac. Simple aircraft in fact, just a "blow pipe", some wings and a place for the dare devil called pilot to spend the, perhaps, last moments of his life.

It's going to be 30 over degrees C today, not really a day to work. And it's Friday too .

Cheers,
Erik

Eric , Chris

If you have an ability to repaint it , I think it would look better as well.
