British V Force

Quietly posted with the typical lack of Pilsworth fanfare, but check out Downloads for his latest addition. A 1/225 scale set of the famous British 'V' bombers (Vulcan, Victor and Valiant) in 'Anti Flash White' and complete with display stand. Thanks yet again Gary Pilsworth.

They are excellent.I might put my current projects away just so I can tinker with those.

Brunos V bombers were the reason I came to this site, looks like I turned full circle

Yes,indeed. What atonished me is the scale 1/225. Why not 1/300. Very good designs by Gary Pilswoth. Tony.

Funny timing: I was reading just a few days ago about the V bombers in one of my old aviation books, written when the Vulcan and Victor where still in service. All three were regarded as fine aircraft with the Valiant being the first to go into service, and the first to be retired in 1965 after sudden airframe cracking was discovered.
Emergency crew escape was an issue (and never solved) in all three, with ejection seats only provided for the pilots.

I guess the scale was an after thought, making the base fit on the page and overall size of the finished display was the main factor....

Print it at 75% and you've got a 1:300 build.

They could have fitted a system like that of the B-52 but even that is a compromise and not 100% effective.
