Finished

PMs

Thank you so much for the support throughout this build. So many modelers have helped with ideas and techniques which I taken on board and developed.

Final pics, as I mentioned yesterday, Ive been waiting for the frame for the finished project. It came late last night and fitted a treat. I've taken some close up pics and finally some in the frame:

Enjoy

In the frame:

I popped it over to the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight to give it some perspective and to give you an idea of its size:

Thanks to Paul Blackah and his Sgt for the modelling of the Panel.

Cheers guys
Time to move house

Wow Al. The whole really is greater than the sum of its parts, or as great as watching the build go piece by piece, the whole thing is even more impressive. Well done indeed, sir. Well done.

Al

The Panel looks fantastic, The presentation in the shadow box is perfect.

Its probably the envy of your squadron.

So what's next a Spitfire Instrument Panel?

Hi All,

And congratulations Al Z on your wonderful paper model and your award of Picture of the Week. Your creativity, research, paper modeling skills, writing and photographs are all top notch, and if such and award were given, your efforts would win Build of the Year for certain.

On a technical note, may I suggest that your lovely shadow box frame be provided with some vent holes in some unobtrusive areas. Some of my architectural models have been encased too tightly, and rapid changes in temperature and humidity have produce water droplets inside the enclosure, something I'm sure you don't want to happen to your remarkable model. Small screens over the holes will keep the bugs out, too.

I just re-read your thread, and there's one question I don't think has been asked and answered...who is the girl in the photograph?

All the best,

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog
