Great job Avro! Please send it to FG, I definitely would like to build the Canuck version.

Your build has clearly been an inspiration, Avro202.

Has anyone ever done a repaint in the early 50s U.S. Navy H-5/HO3S dark blue color scheme? At 1/48, it would look nice next to the Ken L. West/John Bowden Brubaker Bridges of Toko-ri VF-192 Panther.

Don

Hey Don......... I think there was one done up from the movie......with a tiny guy with a green scarf to go along with it.

And I think I did some other repaints of it too.......but I'm not sure if I put them out or not..:-(

I could probably do the navy color scheme if someone wanted to supply a hi-def image of it. So far my googling has not turned up anything with enough detail.

Looks good, Tim! I see that your model now appears on the FG splash page. Many thanks for making this recolor available. It is a great addition to the FG S-51 stable of models.

I'm still hoping for the Korean War-era U.S. Navy version. The U.S. Marine Corps version of the HO3S-1 would be nice, too (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikors...helicopter.jpg).

One of the reasons why I dropped out of FG Card Modeling School was the horrible fits... I just could not take it any longer! Safe to say whenever I see a FG Model properly assembled in all of its glory makes me want to rethink my decision to stop building FG models then the cycle repeats itself.
