There's another workaround I was playing with a bit during a little bit of spare time a few days ago. Import the file into GIMP, use the bucket tool to fill all of the repaint areas with some outrageous color like hot pink, then import a PNG export to Inkscape and trace bitmap... sounds complicated, but it's not too hard.

Or, if somebody asks nicely, I can send the raw export pdf's that Rhino puts out. They're not scaled, organized, and all on one page, but as far as I understand, they are vector based. Only opening them in Photoshop rasterizes them. I'm sure somebody can do something with them.

*edit:* Except, for some reason, I only have the export files for the 737-100. Not sure what happened to the -200's files.

You're right, Rhino is exporting pure vector. I may be colored using Inkscape for example.

I use Cutepdf to export from Rhino, cause that's the only thing way Photoshop will open them.

It is bitmap instead of vector, and if you zoom in far enough, you will run into pixellation. And by "far enough" I mean a zoom level of 800% to 1200%. (Trying to get some of the trickier bits lined up carefully).

In spite of being bitmap graphics, one huge advantage is that the model is black lines on white background (with a couple of blue colored window bits). So, pretty easy to trace over.

Just curious, why? In this case, the model has specifically been released to be recolored.
I've just changed my mind. So, I sent murphyaa a PM, and I'm hoping to get a (good) reply.

Absolutely!

Although I may make a slight adjustment in scale...

I've got Sgoti converting the 737 b&W's to vector, Victor. I'll swap out the files on my site once he gets them done, and email to anybody them who bought one already.
