Your J-3 Piper cub is my favorite, of course. Any chance you would consider posting these models with your modifications for others like me to build. Not that we could even come close to what you can do. These are all outstanding jobs on these models. It's stuff like this that keeps me going. Even as slow as I am. Which seems to be dead slow, all a head in reverse. Thank you for sharing and would really enjoy seeing more. wc

Nice work, very nicely displayed. I especially like the Biitz photo (V-1) and the fuel drum and hose (L-4). Simple touches like that really bring a model to life.

Thanks for your positive comments on this old thread, gents. I still have a few of these models in my collection. I'm glad you like the Piper Cub, WC. My memory's probably rusty, but I think it's pretty much a stock Fiddler's Green kit. I made the prop from a coffee stirrer, and drew up the drum in MS paint. I no longer have the file, unfortunately. The manual crank fuel pump was cobbled together from bits of thin tubing, insulated wire, and I think some plastic model parts. The paper base was also drawn up in Paint with an oak texture. I suppose I could upload a few of my paper bases. They're designed for 1/72 scale fighter aircraft, but can be easily shrunk down for smaller models. I used one for my 1/100 S&P Nieuport 17, for instance.
