Zero box

Paper modeling has other uses.

At the IPMS/USA Convention in Columbus, OH I spied a kit I had built as a kid. I have several vintage Lindberg kits, but none with the motor kit inside. The kit was cheap because the box was trashed.

So, I scanned and repainted the box art. I purchased some cardboard at Hobby Lobby and reproduced the box. I'm almost finished with the whole thing. After that, it will be displayed on my model wall.

Good thinking! The heavy cardboard is probably stronger than the original ever was. I've seen a lot of folks form the local IPMS group find and save the old boxes.
