Hi modeling friends!
Want you today to present another new metal airplane model . The Northrop F5 Tiger also in scale 1: 16.5 is made from Zinklblech and yet still without painting and lettering. Interesting use of zinc sheeting for the material. The aircraft should look very nice when painted.

Real Metal?
Wow that plane is gorgeous. What is the zinc sheet like? How thick? It looks like a great material for model railroad lokos.

Great build, looks fantastic! But the metal finish is awesome, I would not paint it. Keep it this way!
Edit: Eigentlich hättest ihm eine Sharknose machen müssen, damit die runden roten Abzeichen mit dem weissen Dreieck draufpassen. Gruss nach Kärnten! |

I share your sentiments. The model looks fantastic as it is. Painting it will hide the beautiful metal finish. Please re-consider. |

Metal Northrop F5 Fighter
What an amazing model build, Reinbold!
The appearance is quite fantastic. How did you put all the parts together - did you use Super glue (Cyano-Akrylat)? Grüß Gott! Bengt in Stockholm PS. I once went with my school brass band to St Veit an der Glan in Kärnten (in 1969, when I was 15) - it was a beautiful place. We saw, among many wonderful things, the fine castle Hochosterwitz. |

A while back, Fiddlersgreen had a link to a book about building metal models from pop cans. This lead me to tracing a paper model onto the aluminum can material multiple creases caused wrinkling in the skin so I do not show it too often. Since then time has become much shorter and too many other things needing attention.
I will do another. Bob Neill |

There's another member here, ngwithrsd, who makes model planes out of soda cans. His work is quite good. Would love to see your model, creases and all.
