seems pretty tricky to me, being used to the european style of paper models....

Actually, there are a few forms (very few) in there, there's pieces that are inserted that act as guides. Mostly, it's just me knowing what the shapes are. There are certain parts that I would do better on the next round, like the wings, considering it was hard to understand instructions in Japanese translated into broken English, and the visual picture instructions were somewhat hard to follow at times.

Here's an update. I wasn't satisfied with the canopy, so I peeled off the old one carefully and reinstalled a new one. I also worked on the landing gear as well. For the wheels, I used a glue stick that just happened to be the right diameter of the main wheels. I sliced off two wheels and used a toothpick for the strut. I attached the main gear doors to those. For the nose wheels, I did the same thing, but I cut the wheels out of the sheet, glued them to the overly large glue-stick slice, and then just cut down to size. They work very well, and are kind of rubbery in that sense. I also installed the slats, the gun, and the nose gear doors too. I just need to install the weaponry on their pylons next.
