Nice cutlass! It's not a model that you see every day

Hi paperengineer
I agreed with you that the cutlass has something special on the looks.
When we compare it to other fighters of the day the twin tail configuration resembels much modern fighters as f-14 and f -15 then his contemporaries.

Nice looking aircraft - looks like it should be a 'Macross' Valkyrie.

Hi CMDRTED-

In such a case you need to start from almost scratch.
The fly model sabre has a good cockpit chamber
frame which from my work with can be adapted
to many fighters by cutting the border lines.
Then in the f7u case I used the hobby model
insrtrument panel , front view sight cover and ejection
seat. The result is not perfect but not so far from reality.
If you really want you can design the cockpit from
scratch as there are many ways to make it from cockpit
images of the f7u - it is a time consuming job.
Also, there is the 1:48 Canadian Cutlass which has a complete
cockpit made of plastic.

F7U-3M Cutlass - adding the AIM 7 first generatiom beam riding missile

The F7U-3M was the last version of the cutlass.
At last I decided to add the 4 sparrow missiles
that the type carried .

F7U-3M Cutlass - adding the AIM 7 first generatiom beam riding missile

More photos of the missiles construction. As always I check
the fitting with the first missile and then complete the rest.
There are no less than 8 pilons to build - two for each missile.
