Javlin 1:50 Whilhelmshavener
Dear All,
Here are images of the British Javlin. This big plane was nicknamed the drag master due to the fat body lines and thick profile wings. The cockpits and 4 firestrike missiles were scrachbuild in order to give the model more realistic llooking. Yair |

Javlin paper model
Thanks for the replys. The Wilhelmshavener was for many years
the only paper model. Since the model was rather basic I added 2 cockpits , landing gear strouts , 4 firestrike IR missiles and 4 aden 30 mm canons outlets in the wings. Despite having many flight limitations and frlong development period the Javlin served the RAF for more than 10 years and was considered nice to fly by his pilots. Though subsonic it could break the sound barrier in a steep dive. The Javlin had a rather formidable big plane look due to the fat curves of the body and huge delta wings. Yair |

nice build for an uncommon plane. 50's and 60's, that's the golden age for planes !

Isaac , the Javlin in the link is very nice - thanks. Maybe I will build it one day .
I have many other build priorities as of now and it's hard to choose between. Shana Tova ! Yair |

Hi dje- you right !!! The 50's in particular are considered the jet golden age.
In no other period of time so many jet fighters were developed and orderd into service. Only in the US alone a huge number but other nations as well - France for instance was called the prototypes land because many fighters reached flight devolopment status but never reached operational status mainly due to limited resources. I did a shrink of Gary's Javelin a while back now, but I don't think I've seen a picture of it made up in it's published scale yet.
This one is a much simpler 1:300 scale one designed for me by Bruno. My interest in the Javelin ? I was a Cold War Soldier, and we watched the Javelins chasing off the Bears, and escorting the V bomber patrols home, before they were replaced by Lightnings. The Javelin was a beautiful aircraft to watch, but I'm led to believe they were a nightmare to work on due to the complex experimental night fighter electronics.
