Snacso 4050 Vautour 1:48 scale - YOAVHOZMI designD
Dear All ,
Attached here are photos of the french Vautour. The Vautour served only in France and in Israel. Only with the IAF it saw operatinal combat. The peak point of the service was in the six day war in 1967. The Vautour was the only plane who could reach targets as far as Luxsor in south Egept and destroyed the TU-16 bombers that were parking there among many other missions including a kill of hunter above H3 airfield. The model represent the fighter version. There was a bomber version with a glossy nose were the bomber had an ejection seat. Also , the 3rd version was the two seater all weather interceptor that from 1964 was converted to a fighter bomber when the mirages came into service. Yair |

Nice plane
I always liked the Vautour. Elegant looking.
I scaled this model up to 1/33 scale. It was a great build. here is the link to my build Vautour IIA repaint -IAF colors in 1/33 scale There is a 1/33 scale Vautour in the download section here as well. Thank you for posting. Nice work. Isaac

Hi Isaac - I agree with you that the Vautour is a cool bird !
The name Vautour came from Vultre which is eagle in French. The Vautour was a very special aircraft and even the americans didn't have a direct answer at the time. The A-6 Intruder flyed 10 years later in 1963 compare to 1953. The Vautour had an internal bomb bay and therfore could release bombs at supersonic speeds of course in a shalow dive. Your 1:33 model looks very accurate and impresive. Because of limited space I confined myself to 1:48 scale which I can put inside glass vitrine. In this way if the models are in a shadowed room they can last much longer! Yair |

Very nice yair! All of those details on the wings must have gotten repetitive.

Really? I bet you do, since you re-designed it!
(Thank you for that!) I loved the result on this bird. Never heard of it until today though. The things you learn along the pathway of paper modeling! |
