Hi Paperengineer - thanks for your reply . I was a silnet member since Januaru 2012.
I started to show some of my models only this week.
In Israel in the early sixties there was magazine of the air force that was issued every 3
months and a printed paper model included - mainly modified colors of wilhelmshavener
models. I never counted the total number that I build but it's above
100. Today I have 50 at least.
I wish you a sucess in your studying !

Thanks for your reply Gary .
The models that I build are only jet fighters.
The preferred era is 1950-1965 or the golden jet age.

In Vietnam it had the best kill ratio against the migs 1:6 !
Much better than the F-4 Phantom.
The F-8E was adapted to carry bombs and was used for ground attacks in Vietnam.
There is a famius story about a mig 17 pilot
who saw F-8 closing from behind on him so he choose
to eject leaving the mig pilotless.

Hi YOAV - maybe you know this but in 1968 the NAVY compared the F-4
Phantom with the F-8 Crusader. Each side claimed that his plane is superior.
The Phantom had a better radar and electronics while the Crusader had a better
manuverability and could out turn the Phantom.
The Phantom had another pair of eyes of the navigator.
In youtube you can find the movie that describe it.

how was the fit on this hobby model. i have it in my stash and because some of the earlier kits had a terrible fit or finish i was reluctant to build it.

Hi CMDRTED- Some years ago I saw in one of the sites images of. the hobby model cutlass.
Because I already build the plastic model and I saw the imperfections I never dare to build
It. Even the canopy is not in the right proportions and the model needs a through repaint as
the line details are not accurate.

While it is a nice build, flaps never go to an "up" position. Pre-takeoff, they would be in a down position.
