Thank you all guys. I bet Aaron will have some more beautiful repaints up his sleeves. He hasn't shown us his favourite Coast Guard version yet. Let's wait and see.

Hi Aaron,
I found this, although it is a screenshot from a video game. I would definitley buy this if you did a recolor...love the red and black. -RunwayOneSixRight (Matthew) |

Dunno if they actually flew in those colors. The best I can find is this one:
I did find this one though Pima has half of one of these in their boneyard. I like this one too: I'm gonna have to dig out the rhino file again, |

Found this: U.S. Coast Guard Aviation History - Consolidated PBY-5A/6A "Catalina" (link is to a PDF file).
Here's a link to a B&W photo that shows some markings; not sure how useful this is

Very nice model, papermate and Aaron.
Superb rendering of the Catalina (oops that's British for PBY) Now my little PBY looks rather silly Bruno |

The Argentinian Cat is up on the site.
That'll buff out, right? I just noticed something The whole one has the same tail number as the partial one that Pima has... Doing some research, the USCG switched to white and orange markings in 1965. They stopped using the PBY Catalina in 1956. So unless I read something wrong, the White / Orange Cat is a fantasy paint scheme. Last edited by murphyaa; 09-21-2015 at 02:40 AM. |

Bruno, yours are just as great. Simpler and yet fun to build.
