Hey Gene....

Thanks, I'm glad you like my work.

I think you'll find both the Beaver and Otter very easy to put together and represent the originals very closely, and should "convert" to RC flyers without any major hitches.

Jim Gausman was the driving force and designer of these, he is a member here, I did beta builds and made minor suggestions and some recoloring.

Designing the Beaver IS the reason for DGA existence and how all of the original members got together.

I'd still like to see the finished product, so post up some pics when you get her finished.

To not confuse anyone, this publishing is called Kartonowa Kolekcja (The Cardboard collection) and not MODELARZY KARTONOWYCH.

Regards,
Jakub

Hi,

"Modelarzy Kartonowych" without Polish grammar suffixes means "for cardboard modellers"

Thanks for the interesting background on the Design Group Alpha, John. Is the group still "together"? I started with this site, and then found this site ... that linked back to the first. Apparently no way for a person of average intelligence (or below in my case) to get to the member's page.

Lastly, I need to track down some build threads (even though the illustrated instructions are excellent). Have any links, as for your beta build (I've already gone through the papermodelers search engine)?

Thanks,

Gene K

Yes we are still together, although we have been silent for a while. Real life has intruded on designing at the moment.

The Member's page on the site is a section we use to share files, pictures and such and therefore is for our use only.

As far as build threads, I know Jim did one, but I don't remember if it was here or another site. I'll see if I can locate it for you. But to be honest the models are very easy to assemble...

Thanks, but no need to do any more searching for me - my Googling is up to snuff. I have lots of links already.

Yes! I've done a couple of mock ups (quick taped-togethers), and they assemble easily. I may go with different floats, however, more designed for RC ROW (if I ever get to that stage). Hard to decide among the DGA Otter, Beaver, or Turbo Beaver!!

Thanks again for all the help and info.

As for the model, it's outstanding in all respects, including the superb printing and the beautiful clear presentation. Definitely wheted my appetite for more of these Kartonowa Kolekcja models! (thanks, Jakub)

Just wish there were a simple way to translate it all into English. In that regard, anyone have any tips for an OCR Translator?
