I downloaded the F-100 from Ecards for free, which I think is very generous. But, having made almost the complete range of Halinski models I had something more complicated and bigger in mind.
Pity there is no model doing justice to this plane. But thanks to all who helped me finding out what is on the market.

In the last two years there was a welcomed trend with the Polish card models publishers.
For example Hobby model F-84 and F-86 , GPM Mystere IV , WAK Mirage IIIC and KOM Mystere IIC.
Lets us hope that some of them will raise the glove in regard to the F-100. Just to remind the
F-100 was the first true Supersonic jet of the USAF and played a very important role in the Vietnam war . The HUN as it used to be called flew more missions then the P-51 Mustang in WW2 and was the main attack fighter over south Vietnam were it served as a flying artillary and helped the ground forces of the US army that were fighting in the Jungles against the Vietcong gorilla forces.

F-100 C Super Sabre vs Mig -19 Farmer

The Mig -19 was always considered the Russian rival of the F-100. In terms of development. period , entering service in 1955 and production of around 2000 for both if we esclude the Chinese F-6 variant in which more then 4000 were built.
Despite all the above the two never encountered in a real fight or dogfight for the matter.
The Vietnemese recieved the mig -19 only in 1969 and by then the F-100 was alredy in a phasing out process by the F-4 Phantom which suited the Vietnam theater much better.
Also the F-100 was not used in north Vietnam in most of the advancing war stages and therfore was credited only one probable Mig -17 kill . The chances of meeting migs over
South Vietnam were very slim because the migs had short range and were used for local defence.
In terms of performance the mig-19 is better as interceptor and had better acceleration and rate of climb but the F-100 was a much better attack plane that could carry much more bomb load or other weapons to greater distances.
The strong point of the mig-19S was the trio 30mm NR guns which were very effective weapon against air and ground targets.

Some pics of the two side by side. The F-100 is a much bigger plane in dimensions and is also heavier ( 14000 kg vs 9000 kg ).
The F-100c is from Kampfflieger in 1:48 scale and the Mig -19 is GPM 120 reduced to 1: 48 scale in typical Polish airforce scheme.
