Thank you guys for your kind comments and especially to Don and Swampfox for pointing out the anhedral problem, meaning that the wings are drooping. I have carefully examined the situation and agree that there is a problem. As there isn't a wing spar, like in other designers', in the LND kit but just wing formers, I used a rolled up paper tube to run across the fuselage cross-sectionally to keep the wings' dihedral angle during the building stage. Obviously I wasn't careful enough to check it against the 3-view pictures provided on the instruction sheet. My bad.

OK, I have remedied the situation by using the hair dryer (hottest mode) and afterwards the rubberband treatment. It seems to work as seen in the new set of pictures. I welcome your comments on the new look.

Now that looks more like what I'm recalling.

Nice fix.

I have built about half a dozen of the Lad and Dad models - the historical Australian aircraft that are very hard to find elsewhere. None of them were easy, and they all required trimming and adjusting, patching over misplaced graphics, and adding bits that seemed to be missing. I find that if I approach them as a project, looking for the fixes, they have a certain charm. Cheers,

Thanks, Rob. I have purchased quite a number of LND models, mostly for browsing rather than building. Some were built in the 1/200 series though.

There is nothing else like the LadNDad models for the aircraft associated with the great Australian aviator Charles Kingsford Smith, or for the aircraft of the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

Wonderful build (!), but I respectfully disagree about the lines. I think the designer completely missed as regards the front end! The exaggerated droop of the nose to me really destroys the lines of the model.

But ... I do really admire the great build.

Thanks, Gene K. Don't blame it on the designer as yet for I'll be building the nose part again some time later. Then we can be sure if it's a design fault or a building fault.
