OK, couldn't sleep on it and have done a quick and dirty build to identify where the problem lies. The pics are self-explanatory and you'll be the judge to decide on my biased conclusion.

In my experience - just LOOKING at the LnD models you can see that they are "representations" not exact replicas, and a lot of times panel lines do NOT match up. I had the same kind of problem trying to build their King Air for a friend.

TBH, the nosecone piece looks to be shaped upside down.

Look at your reference drawing, then compare the slopes to the point of the nosecone. In the reference drawing, the bottom is a sharp slope upwards and the top is a gentle curve. On the model part, the slopes are the exact opposite.

Also look at the fuselage panel line in reference to the lines of the window frame. That also shows the wrong angles.

Many of the older LnD models are hand-drawn and are more artistic than technical. They resemble the earlier Fiddlers Green models in this regard. If one is looking for a technically correct, count-the-last-rivet model then stick to Halinski (at 5 to 10 times the price) or design your own "perfect" version.

Worth $2.50 to me to have that engine and wheels in my spares box.

Here's a close up of the LnD Hudson. The good news is that it's in vector - so when I imported it into Inkscape I could edit it. The bad news is that there are a LOT of places like this attachment, where things inexplicably don't line up. If one goes to the trouble of making that many nodes, I'm surprised they aren't crisp, or fill in the entire area. It would take me literally the same time in vector to do the job right as it would to do it like this. I know because I've been working on the P-51H that I've 100% redrawn from Aaron's design that I bought.
