P-47 Razorback "Lucky" Dave's Card Creations
Here is another P-47 from Dave. This time is a razorback.
The P-47 Lucky was the airplane of Lt. Col. Robert Johnson. I found in this little book that I have, recounts some of his dogfights in the Thunderbolt and mentions that Johnson was the 6th top ace flying ace of WWII, with 27 (28 depending on the source) victories. Dave's Thunderbolt is one of the latest re-designs, which gives us enhanced weathering, rivet details and special lights and shadows on the painting. The kit comes with detailed cockpit, option of retractable landing gear, clear canopy, and other features making this model a very good option for a P-47. My book: |

Here are the first couple of photos. Front part of the fuselage.
As you can see, the fit is great, that means you won't have any issues on cutting the parts to the exact lines. The closing of the cylinders are exact. NOTE: Former 4A is not glued, but I needed to double check that I won't have a "banana" fuselage. |

Looks like a real beauty. Historic airplane, Dave's design skill and experience coupled with Gerardo's building skill and experience = great model.

yes, a number of tweaks after the one I sent you.
I don't think you started the kit did you? If so, just let me know how far you got, and I'll tell you if there were any changes within those sections. There has been an overall adjustment to colours. You'll notice in Gerardo's build, that the green upper colour is a bit washed out. I have printed test pages myself, and the green is not this faded or grayed out. This photo shows you how "olive drab" the green really is. Gerardo says he printed on a new cardstock that he did not like, so that explains the colour issue. You'll also notice how the highlighting along all the rivet lines is very strong on his build. Its partially a result of Gerardo's printing problem and partially my fault. I have since faded out the highlighting a little more. Most other tweaks are part adjustments later in the build, like the new Canopy Windscreen. And the fix to the engine cowl (very important!).
