Dear List friends:
Boy brings back memory as an archaeologist in the west I was surveying a new pit coal mine area in northern Wyoming and low and behold we found One no fabric left engine gone wing cracked no bodies thank god. Noted it and left. Did note and photo the plate no. and sent to FAA. I too have the Model from PMI in my stack.

I loved those kits by Robert M. Kaelin. A very sad thing they are not available anymore.

more on the bathtub

decided on orange stripes

had to add a couple of unofficial "patches" on the sides

from looking at images on google

this kind of stripes seems common, they follow the fold lines on the sides

a tale

of a tail

the little strips of bamboo were used to press the paper down and make some "ribs"
i thought it was odd that the 2 halves of the tail did not match
when i glued on the other piece i saw that 1) the slots for the white tabs were not in the right place
2) its sides did not match either

the mystery is resolved

i think the bigger pieces were deliberately oversize... i trimmed them off "to fit" and everything more or less looks like it matches

the model supplies and "orange" version of the logo i can cut out and use

since i am repainting the blue the serial number might be a problem

The mignet flying flea is indeed the plane I was thinking of, the report I read mentioned that they were death traps with wings and only one was left intact and that was some time ago now.
