Smile Me-262 GPM kit in 1/33

Finally after close to a year of looking at this kit, I decided to build it.

I was looking for build articles and opinions back then :
Looking for a good Me-262 GPM version build article

My biggest concern was the base of the vertical fin with so many parts to it.

So here it goes.

The kit I have was published in 2004 and for that time had much better graphics than others. I have built the Modelik version years before and wanted something better, so I purchased the GPM version along with the accessories ( frames, canopy and wheels ).

It is better than the Modelik version, but is still lacking in many ways. As discussed in my other thread, the Halinski version is a masterpiece, and maybe one day I will build it as well.

Here is the cover page

The Modelik built version

And with a Hasegawa plastic version in 1/32 scale.

More to come.

Exclamation The kit and accessories

The kit comes in a typical GPM booklet of A4 format. The cover of the kit has Polish instruction ( which is so minimal as to be useless even if you understand Polish ), and a nice set of sketches/diagrams. Those are very helpful, and I wish there were more diagrams as it does not show enough of the details.

The graphic is definitely a cut above the previous printed kits as they are more elaborate and have a more realistic print to them. Again, since alot of progress in graphics has taken place in the past 10 year, I would consider this kit as average by today's standard.

As a bonus, I also purchased the laser cut frames, canopy and resin wheels.

Here they are

Isaac , I found only an announcement of the project Jumo 004.
I do not know the further fate of the project
Alone would gladly stuck together this engine

I remember this article. However, it does not appear that anything came out of it.

Thanks

Isaac

Question My main concern with this kit

The reason that I hesitated building this kit is the crazy looking patchwork of surfaces trying to transition the upper aft fuselage to the vertical fin. And on top of it is painted bright red to draw attention to bad fit.

Here is a close up of another builder that had the same issue.

I will try my best, but really, this surface layout is not needed and no one else uses this ( it also does not exist on the real plane, so why do it? ).

A great pity Jumo004 my Me 262 1:50 awaits the return of inspiration
Good luck, interesting progress .

The problem of the vertical stabilizer, is the result of exaggeration in the design, the designer thought that the paper is rubber
