Hi Paperengineer - the mystere IIC was an interim jet fighter but still 150 were built and it served till
the early 60's in the army de la air. In the 50's there were many other experimental french jets that flew as the Baruder , Durandel , Taon and many more.
I hope that the paper designers will raise the glove and release some of them as I personally fond
these French jets of the 50's for thier look which was very elegant and streamlined.

interesting Model, kind of "improved Ouragan".
nice work!
Suggest you use a green cutting board to highlight the parts while photographing.

Hi Yaron - some of the photos went out of focus for some reason this time.
The mystere IIC was an interim type between the Ouragan and mgstere IV.
It was not successfull as the IV but served in the french air force till 1963.

Regards ,
Yair

mystere IIC - development

The mystere II was a logical step after the Ouragan. The body length was increased by 1m
and the wings swept angel was set to 30 degrees and the tail surfaces were also adapted.
There were no less than 11 prototypes and the first 3 had hispano swisa tay radial jet engine
with 6000 lb thrust. These prototypes were called mystere IIA and flew at the begining of 1951. The next prototypes were equipped with the axial flow atar 101 engine of 5500lb.
The mystere II had 3 firsts : It was the first swept wing fighter to enter service in Europe.
The first pure French jet fighter and the first to be dived beyond the sound barrier in Europe.
Two 30mm guns instead of the Ouragan 20 mm and a 2000 lb carrying ability was given. The top apeed was 660 mph and the cieling was 50000 feet.
The production series had the uprated atar 101D with 6600 lb thrust and modifications to the tail surfaces swept angel. The mystere II C entered service in mid 1954 with the army de la air.

mystere IIC - build diary continued

After a couple of weeks break I proceed with the fuselage build. The cockpit details needs to be added and the ejection seat which is very basic here. The air intake ressembles the Mystere IV and Ouragan.

mystere IIC - build diary continued

A small progress with the mystere II. The cockpit side instruments are done. The pedals were mounted. The front wheel compartment was glued and the fuselage is done
bar the intake splitter. I always put the ejection seat only before the canopy is installed. This way the mounting location of the ejection seat is more accurate.
