F-84F - HobbyModel - 1/33
The next plane will be a F-84F Thunderstreak, published by HobbyModel. It is only the second kit I assemble from this stable. The first (Su-11) was not bad, despite the shiny paint sensibility to white glue and the paper quality, not at all to my taste.
The F-84F kit has the same drawbacks but, as the model is not complicated and the paint scheme is eye-catching, I got a copy, which was quite cheap! The kit has 482 parts, printed on 9,5 A4 pages, one of them in very thin paper. The assembly diagrams are simple and effective. Another “plus” is the print quality. Well, if the paint is sensible to white glue, the trick is to use cellulosic glue wherever possible... |

Forum guys, a real treat is coming! Having my seat on front row. @ Isaac, I told you Ricleite loves details and more details! |

@ Issac - I always purchase the canopy, when it is available, but usually not the laser frames and wheels. They help to speed up construction but, as long as they are not "impossible" to cut. It is a matter of taste, of course.
@ Gerardo - Yes, if the details are fair, keep them coming As usual, I decided to start with the repetitive tasks. Well, the outer drop tanks are just two. So, “repetitive” is an overstatement. I laminated the tips, in order to get a better shape than with the initial card thickness. The front tip is so small that the paper choose to laminate as soon as I started to curve it. Not problematic… |

Nice work on the small drop tanks.
As an engineer, It is amazing to me that most aircraft had a limited internal volume for fuel and relied on external tanks that increased drag and took valuable attachments points on the wing for ordanance. Only in extreme cases did they drop the tanks. Isaac

A good idea to start with the repetitive work. I still have two to make for the F104G and a set of sidewinders, not the most interesting work.
Interesting and attractive looking kit by looking at the instruction pictures. I'll be following, good luck with the project. Erik |

Would you mean by "laminating"? Would you please go further into details? I also have problems with pointy shapes... thank you!

Beautiful work on the drop tanks.
I agree with the "repetitive parts first". I also build the small detailed part first as well. Gary
