Lilienthal's "Grosser Doppeldecker" glider (1895)
Hello all PM's
My next glider after Tanski's "Lotnia" and Chanute's "Triplane" will be Otto Lilienthal's "Grosser Dopeldecker" ("Big Biplane") from 1895. His gliders with openwork structure are beutiful like a birds. I is my own design in 1 : 33 scale. Dimensions: Span - 20 cm L - 16,5 cm H - 7 cm Weight - about 4 grams Materials - bamboo, silk, threads, paper Regards, Dick |

These are definitely the origin of the 'hang glider', just shows there is very little new under the sun.
