A question about scale ...

I've got a BIG problem with scale. Do anybody knows a scale of Fiddler's Green B-24 Liberators? (including John Dell's recolors). There is none WSAM code, none scale ..... and when I was searching on inet, I've found nothing certain or thrustworthy.
Thanks to all in advance ....

1:48 is correct for the Dell Libs and Fortresses.

However, it is highly unlikely that the FG B-24s are 1/48. Chip was notorious for kits that are not standard scale, but page scale.

You can calculate the scale yourself:

Print out the model and measure the wingspan.
I roughly estimated 70 cm from the blue version (not John Dell).

Wikipedia says that the wingspan of a B-24J is 33.5 m or 3350 cm.

Real wingspan/model wingspan = 3350 cm/70 cm = 47.9
Thus the scale of the blue version is 1/47.9 or about 1/48 scale.

The John Dell version appears to be larger so it might be 1/40 scale.

Can anyone give me a wingspan measurement from John Dell's version ?

I've built 3 of John's 1:48 B-24s and their wing spans are 27 3/8" or 69.5cm.

69.5 cm is close to the 70 cm estimated for the blue version.

3350 cm/69.5 cm = 48.2

Thus scale = 1/48.2 or 1/48 scale.

Looks like the John Dell versions are 1/48 scale.
