I see that the panel lines on the wings are visible. Did you redraw them after you painted the wings?

I marked them with a pen, so they are in relief. The paint is special for plastic kits, so is very thin and smoot.

Ok, I asked for a better camera and took this pictures.

rmks2000, I made the markings with a metal point, but not so pointed that will cut the paper. Here you can see the indentations.

Improvements over the Fiddlersgreen original: the windows, the opened landing gears doors, the cuts in the nosecone to allow for a better propeller, and the ballast inside the engine ubication.

Whoa! That's a beauty of a plane.

Thanks, elliot

I'm planning to make my custom 1/72 Vought V173 yellow and gray like the one displayed in the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas, Texas.

Like my unfinished 1/700 Uss Constitution, the plans will be available by donationware.

I hope to start this prototype this weekend

I'm starting a new project.
Long time ago, when Venezuela had money, I was a fan to build plastic models in 1/72 scale. There was a time when I had more than 90 models assembled and displayed at the same time.
From this age remains a lot of parts, cockpits, wheels and weapons that can be recycled on paper models.
This Fw-190a is a test of the viability of this concept, using a cockpit and maybe some wheels and bombs.
You can see the paper model with a plastic FW-190D-9 behind. The paper model will be painted and decals will be applied.

By the way, I included two mode pictures of the Beech

This weekend assembled the other wing. This project is going slowly because I'm concentrated on the BB-57 South Dakota.
But, as you can see, I already have the tail, the wings-fuselage section, the wheels and the cockpit.
The painting will be made after finishing the fuselage. If this works, I'll keep doing painted airplanes. If not, I'll print the next planes in a color printer.

It's fun to use a brush to be sure that the model is straight.
This weekend I assembled a lot of the fuselage, remaining only the cowl of the engine, and started to paint.
At last, I decided to make the plane with the wheels up.

Thank you for sharing your hybrid technique.
And yes at the en it is modeling what we do using the media at hand.
Very nice.

Thanks, wireandpaper.
I feel that the difference between a hobby and a job is that the hobby is for joy.
As you can see, the fighter is almost ready, remaining just the propeller and the "face" of the hawk.
After some search in my box of stickers, I placed the crosses over wings and fuselage. the swastika on the tails is going to be hand made.
You can see that the main difference between the FW-190D-9 and the FW-190A-8 is the engine and the length of the fuselage, but the wings and elevators are the same. The four guns in the wing were optional, some had only two.
Being this plane a test, there are some details that I would make better next time, mainly some reinforcements on wings and tail.
The support is a rectangle of transparent acetate, looking like a "v" from upside and like a shallow "w" cut from ahead. If fits under the wings.
I like the result, the differences between plastic and paper are small. so I'll continue using this technique.
The next one... I don't know yet, but it will have bombs.
