GPM Mig 21 1:33 real aluminium

Hello friends, I'm working on a new test build with aluminium adesive tape, in this case is the Mig21 from the GPM model, its not too much detailed but will look pretty good at the end.

regards

wow, this might look very realistic!

have you applied the tape to lightweight paper?
(scan the original model and print on lightweight paper?)

or, are you using the GPM printed pages?
if so, isn't all a bit thick?

please don't tell me its a downloaded model that you printed.

Thanks for the coment!

well I have scaned the original GPM model and printed on normal 80gr paper, when you apply the aluminium tape on this paper it become stronger.

what I found new is that you slightly sand the alluminium part and color it with alcohol based pen you can get steel or another metal effect to the aluminium, thats what I did to the exaust in this model.

regards

Interesting. It's always good to see new techniques.I remember seeing old Maly Spad 51 with kitchen grade aluminium used for forward section and it's still bugging me sometimes to try something like that.

Thank you for posting pix and good luck-I'll be watching with interest.

Looks great! I tried this once myself, but it didn't come out quite as well. I'll have to try it again some time, following your suggestions for making different metal effects.
